dawn’s in trouble?

it must be tuesday.

*sigh* watching buffy on DVD just ain’t the same.

mein gott, they’re everywhere!

am i the last person on the planet (or at least with a functional internet connection) to find out that isaac hayes is a scientologist?

no more chocolate salty balls. nothing good lasts forever. *thbbbt*

antici…. pation

this afternoon, i’m going to see ultraviolet. i can hardly wait — this could, quite possibly, be the worst sci-fi movie of the year. nevermind that milla seems to be wearing midriff-baring, colorshifting leatherbabe garb and swingy black wig — that shot where her outfit morphs from white to red looks like it’s high time she replace her tampon.

as james pointed out this morning (although he gave credit to a movie blog), it’s never a good sign when the studio doesn’t let critics see the flick before it hits general release. add that to the fact they’ve been pimping the trailer bigtime on scifi (at least i think it’s scifi; i don’t really watch much of anything else), and the pg-13 rating (what? a milla movie with no perky milla breasts? how dare they?) and you have the makings of a disaster. not a katrina-scale disaster, mind you — just think slamming the oven door on a soufflé. a martha disaster, as it were. a disaster of poncho proportions.

in other news, claudia black is going to be a regular on SG-1 next season. while the show ain’t what it used to be (where have you gone, richard dean anderson? the ori would be nothing much to you… woo woo woo…), without farscape around, browder and black on SG-1 is the next best thing. even if black’s character is indubitably going to be putting the moves on daniel. again. (hmmm. maybe they’ll get into another sissy fight…?)

scifi is trying to turn me into a friday-night zombie

“what?” you ask. “what do you mean?”

this is what i mean. firefly-stargate-stargateatlantis-battlestargalactica. i’ll be a drooling eedjit (moreso than i already am) come 11pm on fridays.

the best laid plans…

i meant to watch the first day of the dem’s convention. really, i did. i even know what channel c-span is on my cable lineup. but then…

dead like me happened. i read a short blurb about jasmine guy’s character — kicking off the new season that started on sunday — and thought, “hmmm. i wonder if it’s any good?” so i went downstairs to the tv room, and watched the pilot episode (on demand is a nice thing).

it was hysterical. i watched a few more episodes, and then my husband came home. he, the guy who hates television, got completely sucked in. we watched another episode. and then another. and by midnight, we’d watched the first nine episodes.

yikes.

but it’s really good. honest. and i can always watch the speeches on c-span.org

when faith met brendan

according to tv gal, jason priestley will be joining the cast of eliza dushku’s tru calling. on the one hand i’m annoyed — priestley is so last decade. on the other hand, i’m happy — it drastically reduces my likelihood of ever wanting to watch the show, which otherwise could’ve put a severe crimp in my law school studying.

the suckiness of monday night TV

ugh. there is absolutely NOTHING on television on monday nights. i’m reduced to perusing the agent provocateur website. maybe i’ll buy myself some pasties.
