dark days for the san fernando valley
the straight porn industry has managed to fool itself into believing that regular HIV testing by an industry-funded clinic – rather than mandatory condom use – is good enough to keep its performers protected from disease.
as they recently found out, it might be better than no testing at all, but it doesn’t hold a candle to condoms. the companies are blaming the condom-optional policy on the performers.
a much better rundown of the situation – and the stupidity that led to it – is over at sugarbank.
in related news, i see that lifestyles is now marketing a polyisoprene condom. there’s a review (6 months old) over at the condomunity.

Apparently sugarbank is a vile and evil disgusting site since the saudi server police won’t let me link into it. The other day i was watching the today show on Orbit satellite tv and a segment on Iran was edited with the following comment — “this segment is not appropriate for international audience” sic.
Meanwhile hordes here are downloading bareback vids using bit torrent such that there is not enough bandwidth for me to get any quality online gaming done.

As it seems that too many people take their sexual lessons from watching porn, mandatory condom use would have the secondary benefit of promoting use in society at large.
By the by, did you happen to catch Charles Blow’s excellent NYT op-ed The Prurient Trap?

I find it particularly interesting that the reddest of states are the highest consumers of porn.
