because i am lacking in good ideas
i shall recap the year’s first-sentences-of-the-month, as seen on tv holly’s and alejna’s respective blogs.
in other news, i have no resolutions for this year, no plans plans of note (untrue; burning man in august is something to look forward to), nothing i particularly need to accomplish. except perhaps having my meds tweaked a bit – the SAD is kicking my ass, and depression really blows. (this, on the other hand, rocks some serious yarn – my favorite is the bunny rabbit.)
without further ado: completely forgettable first lines from last year.
january: we’ve survived another year. (felicidades!)
february: felt like i should point out that today is the first day of february of 2008. (february the first) gee, that was original.
march: isn’t acting much like a lion so far. (march)
april: after about a month of wordpress’ incessant reminders that i was running an outdated, unsecure version of their blogging software, i finally caved and took the time to upgrade. (eew)
may: where does dartmouth find these people? (nose-blowing drives professor off the deep end)
june: i’m hideously uninformed on this one, but hopefully negroponte won’t drag u.s. troops into this. (and souls in hell want ice water)
july: so, SCOTUS struck down dc’s ban on handguns last week, in an opinion likely to create ripples across the country as more gun laws are challenged. (heller effects)
august: picked it up at a thrift store last week while looking for stuff to wear at burning man. (what to do with a $10 wedding dress?)
september: photos to follow, as soon as i can sort through the ridiculous number i took. (home again, home again)
october: wired’s gallery of retired drugs reminds me why the (attempted creation of a) doctrine of FDA preemption of state law failure-to-warn cases is a bad thing, even if wyeth v. levine is lousy test case. (bad pharma… and a worse federal government)
november: this is the first in an occasional series where i review prepackaged, ready-to-eat “food” that is marketed to the office set as a lunchtime option. (lunch review: ronzoni bistro)
december: no matter what the bipartisan report says, i still maintain the root of the problem is a broken public health system, not a concerted bioterrorism attempt. (a matter of perspective)

If I commit to one resolution, let it be this: I MUST LEARN TO KNIT.
