an odd sort of day

my project ended at 2:15 on monday. on tuesday, i had some minor errands to run that kept me well occupied.

today. wednesday. today i’m feeling the unemployment. and (wonder of wonders) not liking it.

anyway.

today i saw fresh graves at arlington. it surprised me; i had thought that part was full. and a funeral procession starting from fort myer, complete with riderless horse. i think it may have been a ww2 vet, given the age of the funeral procession.

i also saw a petite woman with a teeny-tiny dog. the dog was taking a dump next to a bush on someone’s yard; i hope it was her yard.

and a tall old man, walking a tall old dog. both pale; the dog seemed hairless, the man bald.

and when i got home, you couldn’t tell i’d swept all the fallen leaves off the back deck. aah, tulip poplars.

like i said, an odd sort of day.
