not nearly as good as i remembered

one thing that a nasty cold gives you time for is catching up on reruns. (it’s not so nasty that i’m compelled to watch teletubbies - if that’s even still on - but then, my fever hasn’t spiked that high, knock on wood.) the scifi channel has been obliging today: i think i’m on my fifth or sixth episode of the very defunct dark angel.

and boy, is it worse than i remember. i’m surprised that jessica alba still has a career. (although there was a funny moment when the recurring bad guy was having a police sketch artist do a portrait of alba: “make her lips bigger. no, bigger.”) or that anyone is letting james cameron produce anything anymore.

pee-yoo. stinkier than a snuffy fart, this show is. and put down that remote - no way am i changing the channel.

The second season’s just terrible, but I still think the first season is better than it has any right to be. I wouldn’t change the channel either.

As I have said before, I did actually send an e-mail to Entertainment Weekly stating: “No matter how many times you put Jessica Alba on your cover, you can’t make me believe she has any talent whatsoever.”

I’ve never seen that show, though am curious about it, since it appears to be in the kick-ass woman genre. All that I know of Jessica Alba is from the trailers/commercials for “Fantastic Four.” And I just didn’t find her convincingly kick-ass, or convincing in any sense, even from those little bits. But the fact that it’s so compellingly bad continues to pique my curiosity…
