gm is getting rid of the hummer. poor sales, apparently. and there’s this:
the entire Hummer group has been outsold this year by the Toyota Prius, a gas-electric hybrid. A key member of GM’s board of directors has suggested that GM scrap Hummer altogether to save cash.

tons of models outsell the hummer. that doesn’t mean that they should kill it and sell better selling models. it’s all dependent upon the profit margins.
not to mention the prius and the hummer demos are widely disparate.
the prius may cut down on fossil fuel emisions, but will still pollute the ground water with its huge dead batteries years from now. and consumer reports showed recently that virtually every hybrid on the market today actually costs more to own than equivalent gas vehicles.
eco bang-for-the-buck, today’s hybrids still have a long, long way to go before they out-green standard gas burners.
