buffy touched the fire and it neither freezes nor seriously burns her. spike gets to rest in peace until angel starts shooting later this year. anya, the perennial critic of human nature, embraces hers just before getting bisected. faith finally gets some, and willow touches her inner goddess, and xander walks away thinking, “well, it’s a good thing i didn’t marry her…. i’d be a widower now.”

oh, and giles? he and dawn get to start up an entirely new watchers council…
